Alibaba Cloud Builds New Clouddriver for Spinnaker
Aug 29, 2019 by Stu Posluns
Adding to Spinnaker’s growing momentum, Alibaba recently built a clouddriver connecting Alibaba Cloud to Spinnaker (available in version 1.16).
Here at Armory, we believe that one of the four truths that will define an enterprise’s ability to thrive in the coming decade is that the cloud infrastructure environment is becoming increasingly fragmented. Companies want the flexibility of multicloud in order to avoid vendor lock-in and to allow them to deploy to the cloud that best suits each workload. One of Spinnaker’s key value propositions lies in abstracting out the idea of production away from any specific targets, allowing your engineers to define a single, golden path to production that deploys to any cloud environment. Spinnaker is the bet on the ability to make more bets. With the addition of this latest clouddriver, Spinnaker now supports deployments to AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, PCF, and Alibaba Cloud as well as Kubernetes running in the cloud or in your data center. With the support of all of the major cloud vendors and a large and rapidly-growing open source community constantly contributing to the project, Spinnaker continues to build momentum as the de facto multicloud continuous delivery provider.
