Armory Spinnaker Documentation: An Overview of Armory Spinnaker Along with a Set of User Guides and Admin Guides

Apr 23, 2017 by Ben Mappen

Armory is pleased to announce our official Guides and Documentation for Armory Spinnaker, available at http://docs.Armory.io.

The documentation consists of an overview of Armory Spinnaker along with a set of User Guides and Admin Guides.

This documentation is for Armory customers, but we’re also making it publicly available in the hopes it’ll be helpful for others in the community as well.

For New and Old Alike

Since Spinnaker is a newly released open source project, we have written these guides in a way that we hope will address potential questions upfront and help those new to Spinnaker ramp up faster. For those new to Spinnaker, we also recommend:

Comprehensive Guides

The guides cover topics ranging from explaining the Spinnaker UI to helping you deploy your first pipeline to troubleshooting common issues. The guides were written to help both users and administrators. Our goal is to share the substantial experience we’ve had helping customers with their own Spinnaker installations.

In-depth Explanations

For all of the guides, we asked ourselves: “Would this make sense to someone who had never done this or seen this user interface?” We included screenshots when applicable and focused on explaining things clearly so our users would not have to work for the knowledge, and we hope it’s just as helpful for other Spinnaker users who aren’t yet Armory customers.

Armory Specific Information

Armory’s Release Notes and Process can be found in the documentation as well to give our users a centralized platform for discovering the information they need — for both Armory and Spinnaker.

A Permanent Work in Progress

Armory and the Spinnaker open source community are always adding new features and making tweaks to Spinnaker. As the software evolves, these guides and documentation will as well. Please give us feedback on the how helpful these guides are, and where we could still improve them.
