New Spinnaker JIRA Stage

Oct 20, 2017 by Ben Mappen

Spinnaker is a workflow tool for deploying artifacts to cloud-based environments. You may also have internal business workflows that need to be updated when changes to production are introduced. Many companies use JIRA to manage this process so we created a JIRA stage in Armory Spinnaker.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Select “JIRA Create Issue” from the stages dropdown menu when you are configuring a pipeline.
  2. Define which JIRA project you want to create a ticket in, along with other parameters that should be logged in the ticket. You can use Spinnaker’s rich expression language to inject data like the user who kicked off the pipeline, the Git commit hash, and other relevant information from the pipeline into the ticket.
  3. You can also update an existing JIRA ticket by specifying a ticket by name, ID, or referencing the JIRA ticket created earlier in this pipeline run.

For more information about the JIRA stage, drop us a note below or install Armory Spinnaker yourself here.
